2005.01.07:
It's been snowing in Vancouver on -and - off for the last two days. Fantastic
news for us snowboarders - the local hills are getting a nice dump of
powder. Not so good for the drivers,
many of whom don't get much practice in the snow (unlike us Prairie born
types). Its beautiful though. Since it will only be here for a couple
of days, we'll be getting out and enjoying. Here's a
shot up the street from the Ravine..
The garnMan (my podCast sidekick) is thrilled. He refuses to adjust his wardrobe for the snow, convinced that it'll all disappear in a few minutes and his snowboots will slow him down. Yesterday was his birthday and he spent the day eating Sushi and plotting his next Runescape session. He may actually have stopped moving for a couple of minutes mid-afternoon, or maybe I just dozed off.
Meanwhile, the amazingMatthew has been making (what else) amazing snowballs that spiral like some long-bomb-from-the-long-gone-Blue-Bombers. They bring a tear to the eye. Bud Grant would be proud.
Its supposed to snow all day and into tonite, so the plan is to hit Cypress first thing in the morning for a little riding in the pow. Might bring the headcam up and get some frames - will keep you posted.
The garnMan and I are still planning to launch regular podCasts from here in February. We were working on a general introduction on Monday but garnMan refuses to do more until his package from Lego arrives in the mail. I think this means he's working to rule. Here's the intro .
